da apostaganha: Premier League pair Liverpool and West Ham United are in the driving seat to sign Dynamo Kiev striker Lukasz Teodorczyk, according to Corriere dello sport.
da marjack bet: What’s the story?
Both Liverpool and West Ham are believed to be keen to strengthen their attacking options for the second half of the season.
For the Reds, manager Jurgen Klopp has mainly used Roberto Firmino as a focal point in his attack-minded lineups this season, while Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge are lower in the pecking order.
The Merseyside outfit find themselves second in the Premier League table, just one point adrift of leaders Chelsea after 13 games.
If they remain in and around that position after the hectic Christmas period, then they will consider themselves as serious challengers for the Premier League title.
Klopp will need to ensure that he has enough firepower in his squad to continue Liverpool’s title charge, and according to reports in Italy, £12m-rated Teodorczyk is an option.
The Hammers are also understood to be keeping their eye on the Polish forward as they have struggled for goals this season – netting just 14 in the Premier League.
Simone Zaza has failed to impress since joining the club on loan in the summer, while Diafra Sakho is facing six weeks out with a thigh injury.
Why is Teodorczyk a popular target?
Not only are Liverpool and West Ham chasing the 25-year-old, The Mirror reported last month that Aston Villa, Stoke City, Sunderland, Everton and West Bromwich Albion have shown an interest.
It is little wonder why as Teodorczyk has scored 19 goals in all competitions this season during a loan spell at Anderlecht, and the rumoured price tag of £12m is reasonable in today’s market.
The striker has shown that he can cut it on the European stage, and is adaptable having played as a centre-forward and a second striker at times.
The problem that Liverpool and West Ham could encounter is that the player has numerous suitors, with Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan also thought to be keeping tabs on him.
