The Scotland international saw how current coach Ronny Deila had issues when he first came into the job due to the early qualification rounds being so soon in pre-season, and he told the Daily Record, that any new coach will face the same challenge after they return to training next campaign:
“The new manager is not going to have a lot of time. The boys only have just over four weeks off then we are straight back into it.
“The qualifiers start in early July so he isn’t going to have a lot of time. When the current manager came in he didn’t have a lot of time to get ready for the Champions League but the new boss would be well up to speed to what this group of players can do.”
“He will also have an idea of who he wants to bring in to help the boys. We will look to get into the Champions League and if we do it then great and if not we will look to have a successful challenge in the Europa League.”
Griffiths has been in excellent form for the Bhoys this season, scoring 38 goals in 48 appearances in all competitions.
His Celtic side go into this weekend’s match against Hearts knowing that a win could clinch another league title with nearest rivals Aberdeen nine points behind, knowing they can’t drop any points against Motherwell on Saturday.
