da betobet: After taking the decision to sack Unai Emery following a dismal start to the current campaign – the Spaniard had overseen a run of seven games without a win in all competitions – Arsenal are on the look-out for their second permanent manager since the departure of Arsene Wenger back in the summer of 2018.
da cassino online: Freddie Ljungberg has been named as the club’s interim head coach, but recent reports have suggested the north London side have drawn up a 12-man shortlist to identify the right man for the job. Names such as Mikel Arteta, Mauricio Pochettino and Brendan Rodgers have all been bandied about, but news coming out of France claims the Gunners now have their eyes on someone else.
According to Nice-Matin, Arsenal are eyeing up club legend and Invincibles hero Patrick Vieira as the man to permanently take over from Emery, with the iconic Frenchman already considering their interest. But despite his legendary status in the red half of north London, fans on Twitter didn’t seem too enthusiastic about the prospect of seeing him in the dugout.
Some Gunners fans revealed that whilst they appreciated his position as a legend at the club for his performances as a player, he simply isn’t the kind of man they need at the moment to help take the side forward.
A few fans even suggested they would actually prefer keeping Freddie Ljungberg in the job, and pointed to Vieira’s struggles at Nice this season – the French side are down in 14th in the league, and lost 4-1 to St Etienne on Wednesday.
Having gotten their first post-Wenger appointment wrong, the Arsenal board know they are under immense scrutiny at the moment. Emery always had a difficult job in looking to step into the footsteps of the club’s long-serving manager, but the next man in will not have that excuse. Whether Vieira has built up the credentials in his fledgling managerial career is up for debate, but his current campaign with Nice doesn’t bode well.
Meanwhile, Arsenal could benefit massively if Freddie Ljungberg manages to reconnect with this key figure.
