da dobrowin: Leicester’s plans this January are abundantly clear. Brendan Rodgers has said no one will leave and that includes the in-demand James Maddison who is wanted by Manchester United.
da luck: With the Foxes sat in third place, they are an appealing destination and stand a very good chance of reaching next term’s Champions League.
Consequently, this transfer window could have a massive say on whether they do achieve that aim. If those around them strengthen then managing just a second season among the elite clubs in Europe becomes that little bit harder.
However, if they pull off some clever business their task might be easier. That’ll certainly be the case if they sign rampant winger Hwang Hee-chan from RB Salzburg.
The South Korean has been the subject of interest from the Foxes according to a report in The Athletic on Monday. The same outlet claims that Brighton, Everton and Wolves are also in the hunt for the winger.
Earlier in the window, The Telegraph claimed that he could cost as much as €25m (£21.4m) this January so any deal won’t be too cheap.
But for a player who has scored nine times and claimed 14 assists in all competitions this season, it would be more than worth it, especially when you consider he’d help to solve a problematic area for Rodgers.
Assessing Hwang’s stats (Via WhoScored) in the Champions League this term, it’s clear to see he’s an incredibly dynamic player.
Not only does he know where the goal is and how to find regular positions inside the area, but he’s also a creative force and a canny operator with the ball at his feet.
Signing him, therefore, would help to address a growing concern on the left flank at the King Power Stadium. Between Harvey Barnes and Demarai Gray, they have scored just once this term. Alongside that, they’ve only provided six assists as well.

Gray, meanwhile, registers just 0.9 shots per game while Barnes’ number in that column stands at 1.7. With the former, the lack of productivity is alarming, particularly for a team looking to finish in the top four.
The two numbers above are far below that of Hwang, who has been even quicker than a certain Cristiano Ronaldo this season.
According to stats provided by UEFA, the multiple Ballon d’Or winner has clocked a top speed of 31 km/h in 2019/20. In comparison, Hwang has reached a speed of 32 km/h, proving his lightning-quick abilities.
If Leicester can get this deal over the line, they’d certainly improve their attacking ranks.
