Junior Hoilett will reject the chance to become one of Blackburn’s highest ever players in favour of a move away from Ewood Park at the end of the season according to The Independent. The 21 year old has come through the ranks at the Lancashire club but despite the owners’ offer of a new contract it is thought the promising forward favours a move to a bigger club. Initially it was suggested by Blackburn that they would let him run down his contract before leaving on a free transfer but now it appears that the Venky’s owners would prefer to cash in on the player in January.
Arsenal and Newcastle have both been linked with the Canadian international however it is thought that Harry Redknapp is the biggest admirer of Hoilett. Despite Blackburn rating Hoilett as highly as Phil Jones it appears, due to his contract status, that a figure roughly half of what Jones was sold for would be acceptable.
With Redknapp apparently losing faith with both Kranjcar and Pienaar the Tottenham manager is thought to be lining up a £9m bid for the Canadian. The attraction of Hoilett lies not only in his obvious talent but also his ability to play in the Europa League for Tottenham, as he is not cup tied.
